Formation of a multi-function digital Studio plan (Using virtual reality special affects as development goals)

In the recent years, the film industry has seen significant development. Multi-function digital Studios have been in common usage around the globe, yet most film-related students lack digital Studio and 3D special affect training, which prevents the overall development of the department. Digital Studios offer a much broader scene than actual space allows; a major break-through compared to traditional studios. The rapid change of sceneries,3D effects generated props, sceneries and even actors will no doubt become the future trend of the film industry.

In addition to post-production editing and special effects courses, the department is actively constructing multi-function digital studios to allow students to have hands-on experience and enhance industry-academic cooperation. Bestow a new direction in digital content and video production and be up to date with the world’s film industry trends.

Post-production and special effects laboratory Project (Enhance the quality of student-produced animation videos)

With the implementation of government policies and encouragements, many internationally renowned directors choose Taiwan as their filming scenery. However, we are unable to keep the post-production editing and special effects stage in Taiwan. Upon inspection, it is caused by a lack of advanced post-production editing talent.

With non-linear editing systems fully replacing traditional linear editing and the constant upgrade of special effects software systems, post-production personnel are granted with much higher working efficiency. This ranges from operation convenience, post-production quality and precision to the infinite possibilities of animation.

In order to strengthen the development momentum of post-production editing and special effects, cultivate professional post-production editing talent and enhance international exposure, the department plans to establish post-production editing and special effects laboratories and further promote exchanges between both domestic and foreign post-production companies and the industry. This will improve the student’s workplace and post-production editing competitiveness.

Students are encouraged to participate in international competitions and film festivals; this is key in stimulating their film creation potential and even enhances their global understanding.
